The story may not be clear, but it seems to be thus: A bro with a sweet afro has been transported to an unusual world. While exploring, he encounters a lot of hostile wildlife as well as many kinds of blocks. With no other way but forward, he starts running and jumping to find some way out or some treasures that can help him forward. He may have an awesome afro, but it sadly won't protect him from all the dangers on his journey.

When making a Mario kind of game, you need to make sure that the controls work well and that the world is designed for such gameplay. This game makes efforts to do both and applies difficulty that may test your patience. The hero can only do so much and he doesn't get access to much in terms of power. As a result, he has to rely on your skill to keep him safe or you'll both be trapped in the same levels for longer than you expect. There are ways forward, but you need to think carefully and move well so that you can follow them.
How to Play
Super Afro Bro is a 2D platform adventure game about running and jumping around levels using only the keyboard.
Controls
- W/Up Arrow/Spacebar - Jump
- A/Left Arrow - Move Left
- D/Right Arrow - Move Right
- Z/M - Shoot
The goal is to complete levels by reaching the end and collecting tokens. The hero can only take one hit before being killed with all a manner of enemies and hazards being able to do so. Whenever he dies, you'll be sent back to the start of the level.
From the main menu, you can choose the Little Adventure for levels lined up one after the other, or the Big Adventure which takes you to a level-select map. After you pick one, you'll start playing by spawning on the left side of the screen. From there, you need to make your way through the level to reach the end of the token. There are certain yellow blocks that you can activate by bumping into them. Enemies like mice and armadillos can be jumped on to stop them, while hazards like spike plants and large pits need to be avoided. The more tokens that you collect in your adventure, the more places you'll unlock.
Tips and Tricks
The pacing of this platform game is a bit slower than Mario, but can also be quite sensitive. It's easy to build momentum and mistime jumps that will send you right into danger. Approach short platforms carefully and be wary in areas with lots of pits.
