Silhouette Showdown may not let you see the fighters clearly, but you can feel their strength as they prepare to engage in honorable combat. Even though the two fighters are trained warriors, they're entering into a realm where only the most skilled and resilient fighters would dare to tread. This showdown is taking place somewhere dangerous where the sponsors and designers have made the arenas into deathtraps. There are chances for the fighters to earn their keep by fighting through the gauntlets or making their name through one-on-one fights. It will be challenging to come out unscathed, so grot your teeth.

About Silhouette Showdown

Fighting games have trouble with balancing since the patented button-mashing technique can be used to defeat even the mightiest of foes. This game is another place where such a technique will be tested since there are options available. The most notable option is letting the arena do some of the work for you. You can be a passive or active fighter, but the fighter that stays in the best health will eventually win the whole thing. However, you or your opponent have the option to keep pressure on the other or make use of the various items at your disposal. Be prepared to adapt to everything.

How to Play

Silhouette Showdown is a 2D fighting game about shadowy fighters fighting their way through a deadly arena using the keyboard.

Player 1 Controls

W - Jump
A - Move Left
D - Move Right
S - Crouch
Spacebar - Attack
E/M - Parry/Item

Player 2 Controls

Up Arrow - Jump
Left Arrow - Move Left
Right Arrow - Move Right
Down Arrow - Crouch
Enter - Attack
Numpad - Parry/Item

The goal is to defeat your opponents and make it to the end of the arena. The health will be displayed at the top of the screen and will turn red as more damage is taken. If your health becomes entirely red, you'll be knocked out.

The main menu gives you the option to try the gauntlets as a single player or to face a challenger in two-player mode. After you choose, your fighter will spawn, and you can begin. You may get the option to trigger Items or Sudden Death, with the forming occasionally spawning items during the fight and the latter closing in on the arena with forcefields of death. Damage can be inflicted by direct attacks, collected weapons, or hazards such as buzzsaws scattered around the arena. During the gauntlets, you can recover by health by reaching checkpoints and can unlock doors by defeating certain enemies. You must defeat your opponent or reach the end to win the fight.

Tips and Tricks

As a fighting game, you have a minimal range in your attacks, so you must move and react to get close to your targets. Certain items will give you more range but can be risky if not used properly. The key to victory is to master the parry which when executed will negate damage stun the attacker temporarily and leave them open to follow-up attacks.
