Red Impostor vs. Crew
Among Us was lingering on the game market for around two years when it finally exploded in popularity and now we can't get enough of it like with Red Impostor Vs. Crew. The premise of the original game is that there's a spaceship and a hardworking crew of adorable little spacemen with colorful suits and not-always-visible limbs. The goal is to do chores around the ship so that they can all get home safely, but an impostor has hidden among them and wants to see them all dead. You will be playing this impostor and will need to wipe out those among whom you hide.
About Red Impostor Vs. Crew
Despite the popularity of Among Us and games like it, the premise has been around for quite a while in various forms proving to be a fun party game. This game takes the idea and turns it into a single-player experience where you are the bad guy and the others are your potential victims. It captures a lot of the concepts of the original functionally and can almost be seen as a training scenario for players trying to become better impostors. It doesn't have the same pacing, but it can still help you blow off steam and give you a feel for the general mechanics.
How to Play
Red Impostor Vs. Crew is a 3D top-down stealth game where you're secretly trying to hunt down crewmates using the keyboard or mouse. If you go for the latter, you'll need to click and hold the Left Mouse Button and drag the cursor around to move the impostor. To kill a crewmate and use vents, you need to get close enough until the appropriate icon pops up and then click on it.
Keyboard Controls
- W - Move Up
- S - Move Down
- A - Move Left
- D - Move Right
- Spacebar - Kill/Use Vent
As the Red Impostor, your goal is to kill all of the other crewmates who are trying to fix the ship. You'll win the level once the last crewmate is dead. If a dead body is spotted by another crewmate or they succeed in fixing the ship (indicated by the bar at the top of the screen) then you'll lose and have to restart.
As the impostor, you have two abilities unique to you: Killing and using vents. Killing becomes an option when you get close enough to a crewmate as indicated by a weapon icon appearing over their head. When killed, the crewmate's top half will disappear and they'll drop money. Vents can instantly transport you to another part of the ship by going up to one and pressing the button when the vent icon appears. There will occasionally be bonus levels where a crewmate will throw fruit at you from the top part of the screen while moving back and forth. You'll need to move back and forth too and slice the fruit as it gets close to earn bonus rewards.
On the Main Menu, you can use money earned for customization. You can change what kind of weapon the impostor wields as well as the accessories that they wear.
Tips and Tricks
Much like the original Among Us, the main thing you need to keep in mind is stealth and speed. You should avoid killing crewmates who are close to each other as it will easily attract attention. Start with crewmates that are alone or more separate from the others so that you can pick them off more easily.
