Questlike
Do you need a reason to go on a quest? Of course not, but here's one: Monsters are out of control in Questlike. There is a fantasy realm that is having a surge in monster populations and normally that wouldn't be a problem. The thing is that many of the more aggressive monster types aren't coping too well with this many rivals and are being much more dangerous as a result. As a hunter, you're being called upon to deal with these monsters using whatever training and tools you can bring to the table. Just be sure to come back in one piece if you can.
About Questlike
Being able to slay a monster is the minimum requirement for any aspiring adventurer and an absolute must for any hunter-in-training. This game has you playing as the latter and you've got your work cut out for you. You've managed to grab the attention of other hunters, but they're not going to sugarcoat anything. Hunting monsters is a serious business with a large number fo hunters not coming back because they weren't properly prepared or equipped to deal with their quarry. You'll need to put in the time and resources so that you can contribute as a hunter and sort these monsters out.
How to Play
Questlike is a 2D first-person RPG about hunting monsters across the realm with different weapons using only the mouse. To interact with the UI, move the cursor over to it and click the Left Mouse Button. When hunting, click the weapon and shield icons as they become active to use them in battle. The goal is to hunt a certain number of monsters of each type in each of the different regions. The hunt will end when you choose to stop hunting or when you run out of tickets and will need to take a break for a bit.
The hub area is where you can pick up your missions, upgrade your equipment, and visit the shop for materials. The main currency you'll use is gems that you'll get from successful hunts and completing certain tasks. To go on a hunt, select a region and then select a monster to hunt. Each monster will have a different challenge rating, strengths, and weaknesses. You'll alternate between attacking the monster and trying to block its attacks. Your health will be shown as hearts at the bottom. If you lose all your hearts, you'll need to retreat. You'll succeed if you do enough damage to the monster.
You'll have different types of weapons that all do different kinds of damage and wield one of several elements (Neutral, Nature, Fire, and Earth). They'll all have different effects based on the monster you use them on and you'll need scrolls to upgrade them.
Tips and Tricks
The hunt will take some getting used to, so you'll need to practice following the rhythms of each fight. The action icons will appear and you need to be ready to strike and block as they hit that sweet spot. You need both patience and sharpness to effectively fight monsters, so take time and practice against the easier targets.
