Monster Battlegrounds
Monster Battlegrounds is clear about what it's about and what you can expect, so you know what you're getting into if you enter. The monsters of a strange but colorful world are deciding to compete to see which of them is the toughest. Rather than having a series of physical competitions, they've resolved everything with straightforward fighting. As someone looking into this monster world, you must decide which monster you'll take under your wing to lead to victory. Although these monsters look small and kinda cute, remember that they're still monsters and will need to fight monstrously to come out on top.
About Monster Battlegrounds
Any battleground will throw you into a fighting competition where you don't need to worry about what you're doing except fighting and surviving. This game is about picking a monster and throwing them into a battle they're more than prepared to win. Of course, that all depends on your guidance and whether you understand how your monster behaves. You must spend time with whatever monster you pick to master their attacks and movements so that you can make them effective. If you don't, your monster won't stand a chance and won't be able to stand at the peak of monster strength.

The goal is to win matches against any monster that you face. The health bars will be at the top on the side of the respective monster. The timer will be between the health bars, and the win counters will be below each. If your monster is knocked out for most of the fights or has less health at the end, you'll lose the match.
The main menu lets you check out the Tutorial for some guidance or take up some Training to spend time with the monsters. Select the "Battle" option when you're ready to fight. From there, you can choose the background for your fight, and each competitor can choose which monster to represent. After that, the fight will load up and begin after a brief countdown. Once the fight starts, competitors can go after each other with everything they have. Each hit taken will lower health but build up the Super Meter in the bottom corners. A Sudden Death round will begin if both monsters still have health when the timer runs out. Barriers will move in from either side to force the competitors closer together. The beast that wins most of the rounds will win the match.
Tips and Tricks
Since this is a fighting game, much speed and timing are involved. Most monsters have similar ranges with a mix of melee and ranged attacks. However, the more mobile you are, the harder you are to hit and the more frustrated your opponent will get. A frustrated opponent is likelier to make mistakes, so look for openings to land combos or separate but consistent hits.
