Unreal Descent 2 - Race is a series involving several types of vehicles you can choose between. Since this is a race, you're expected to finish the course as fast as possible, ignoring the other racers if possible. The tracks aren't as simple as circular or complex courses that stay level. Each one will challenge you to drive your vehicle to clear the obstacles and get over gaps in the track to reach the finish line. The reward mainly comes from getting your car across the finish line. If you can keep completing races, you'll be able to earn more and race in new ways.

About Unreal Descent 2 - Race

As a racing game, you're encouraged to drive quickly to complete the race and beat the clock. You will have other opponents to deal with, but they're merely obstacles on the tracks which are not as spacious as they might look. It is a challenge to complete the race quickly and without causing too much damage to your vehicle. The tracks are designed to test your driving and will send you over ramps through obstacles that can easily knock your car off the track. You can finish the race, win prizes, and get new cars if your vehicle can still move.

Controls

W/Up Arrow - Accelerate
S/Down Arrow - Slow Down/Reverse
A/Left Arrow - Turn Left
D/Right Arrow - Turn Right
Spacebar - Handbrake
R - Reset

The goal is to complete each track by crossing the finish line. Your speedometer will be in the corner of the screen to track your speed and gear-shifting and the timer will be at the top. If your car is destroyed, you must reset or restart the race.

The main menu lets you choose what car you want to drive, with new vehicles being unlocked via money earned. After you pick your vehicle, you can go to the course and select where you can choose any course that's been unlocked through completion. Each course will start you between two other competitors. The competitors will be racing against you, but your objective is simply to finish. You'll have to avoid obstacles like swinging blocks, walls, and gaps to get further along the track. Loops and ramps will require you to reach a certain speed to clear them. Once you get across the finish line, you'll receive money for winning.

Tips and Tricks

As a driving game, your primary concern should be maintaining car control. Your opponents serve mainly as additional obstacles and distraction, so you should remain focused on the road. Some tracks can't be completed with slower vehicles, so save money until you can afford a faster one.
