When it comes to an epic quest, it's usually the everyday person who is destined to become some kind of hero, but in Unbroken Soul, the one at the top is ready to fight. In the fantasy land of Alaron, a powerful necromancer named Elaniof exists who uses the souls of others to form his army. The king of Alaron, Tyrion, decides to challenge the necromancer directly for a chance to save the land. However, he is struck down by the evil wizard's overwhelming power, but his soul is uncaptured. Caught between life and death, Tyrion must fight through a new realm to return and confront Elaniof again.

You would think that the hero would want to avoid getting killed early on in the adventure, but games are known to twist things around. In this game, the main character is not technically alive, but he's still active enough to fight back. Despite being a king, he has none of the benefits, such as an army of soldiers or a group of good wizards to fight magic with magic. No, he will have to rely on your skills and guidance to get him back to the living. Still, he's just as vulnerable in this new plane of existence, so watch your step.

How to Play

Unbroken Soul is a 2D action-adventure game about a king trying to defeat a necromancer to save his kingdom using the keyboard.

Controls

Left Arrow - Move Left
Right Arrow - Move Right
Down Arrow - Drop through Platforms
Spacebar - Jump (Again to Double Jump)
Z - Use Sword
X - Use Bow

The goal is to gather enough power from the realm's wizards to return to the living world. Tyrion's health will be in the top left corner of the screen, while his collectibles will be shown at the top right. If Tyrion's health drops to zero, he'll be set back a ways in the level.

The game will start Tyrion off in the hub area, where he can access the different worlds that have been unlocked. He can also visit the experts to upgrade his sword and bow using the treasure he finds. When he enters a world, Tyrion must navigate to the end of each section, avoiding traps and fighting enemies. When he reaches the end, he'll need to defeat the wizard of the world who has taken the form of a monster. After defeating it, he can return to the hub area, where a new world will be unlocked. After beating all the wizards, he'll have a chance to face off against Elaniof.

Tips and Tricks

This is a classic take on a platforming action adventure with a hero who is quite mobile and can take a decent number of hits. However, this doesn't mean you can get careless, as things like spikes and pitfalls will instantly kill you. Take advantage of your bow weapon whenever you encounter enemies from a distance.
