Dwarves have been a part of mythology for centuries and have been a staple of fantasy series since the earliest stories of the genre, and we've arrived at ones like Runic Rampage. This is the story of the dwarf warrior known as Grimbard, who has been called on a matter of great importance. A mysterious and deadly illness has begun to spread across the realm, and there's only one possibility of a cure. Grimbard must travel to ancient locations to look for knowledge and artifacts that could lead to a cure or the whole kingdom may perish. Grab your hammer so that you can nail this quest.

About Runic Rampage

If you're going to play dwarf in most settings, you can probably guess that you'll slip well into some kind of physical fighting role. This game has you playing as Grimbard, who is a veteran warrior who is used to fighting on his own. Still, it's been quite some time since he's had to do any actual fighting, so his skills might be rusty. This is what you need to work with if you're going to help him get stronger and have any chance of completing the quest. If not, then Grimbard and the whole kingdom may be lost to time.

How to Play

Runic Rampage is a 3D isometric role-playing game about a dwarf going on a quest to save the kingdom using the mouse and keyboard.

Controls

Left Mouse Button - Attack
Right Mouse Button - Dash
Mouse Wheel - Use Spell
W/Up Arrow - Move Up
S/Down Arrow - Move Down
A/Left Arrow - Move Left
D/Right Arrow - Move Right

The goal is to get to the end of each area and collect the treasure. Grimbard's health is in the top left corner, and the compass is in the bottom left. If Grimbard loses all his health, he'll fall in battle, and you'll need to try again.

The main menu is where you can spend the gold and experience you've earned to improve Grimbard in various ways. You can upgrade his stats, weapons, and spells and equip him with different armor sets. When you decide to play, you can head to the act screen to take on acts unlocked with progress. When playing through part of an act, Grimbard will spawn in a starting area, and the compass will point him to his goal. He's free to explore the area or head directly to the goal.

While roaming, Grimbard will come across enemies that will attack on sight or retreat based on how the battle is going. By pressing the mouse buttons in different combinations, Grimbard can perform combos that will do different amounts of damage at different ranges. Slaying enemies will earn Grimbard coins and experience points. When he reaches the end, he must fight a larger enemy to access the treasure. Upon reaching the treasure, Grimbard will get to choose a selection of items to take.

Tips and Tricks

Grimbard is fairly tough and can deal with a decent amount of damage from the start, but he's pretty slow and bulky, which makes him an easy target. It's exciting to take on huge groups of enemies, but be warned that they can pile on damage quickly. Also, remember to break any objects like jars for additional coins and items.
