Market Life
Sometimes you feel the urge to start a business, maybe open up a little shop and contribute to the community, and that's what's going on in Market Life. Fresh out of business school, you decide to open a store that sells things that people need every day, namely food. Since you're just starting, you need to handle all the jobs, not just the business side of things. It's going to be a lot of hard work, but that's how you're going to grow the store and that will lead to the business growing so that you can provide even more.
About Market Life
You could probably guess some of the responsibilities that come with running a market, but it's unlikely that you can guess all of them. This game covers a lot of what is seen in a market and what people need to do to keep things running. Of course, it's just you at the moment, so you'll be doing all of the jobs and that will take a lot of time since you're just one person. Since you're starting with limited capital, you need to put that into the market itself before you can start building a team, and maybe from there, you can start climbing the ranks.
How to Play
Market Life is a 2D isometric game about running and working in a market using the mouse or keyboard. To move the worker around, hold down the Left Mouse Button on the screen and drag the cursor to move them around the store.
Controls
- W/Up Arrow - Move Up
- S/Down Arrow - Move Down
- A/Left Arrow - Move Left
- D/Right Arrow - Move Right
The goal is to grow your store and keep making a profit. You'll need to tend to all of the customers and make sure that your store stays fully stocked. You can keep going until you feel that your market has reached the right level.
When you begin, you'll have a small amount of money that you can invest in elements for your market. These can include things like product stands, unloading docks, and checkout counters. A typical process involves unloading boxes of products from arriving trucks, putting them on the stands, and then going to the checkout counters when your customers have got their products and are ready to pay. As you level up by making sales, you'll be able to add more elements to your store and help it expand. You can also hire temporary staff to help you run things while you collect earnings from the checkout counters.
Tips and Tricks
You'll always be moving while playing and you'll feel the urge to hire workers frequently, but this weighs on your expenses. Your level will go up and down depending on how much you're spending, so you'll need to save to increase your market's level. Always keep stands stocked and stop by checkout counters to consistently collect cash.
