There's an entire career in real estate that revolves around finding old properties, fixing them up, and then putting them back on the market. It can be demanding and expensive work if you have a small team, but the payoff can be significant. So, as a new house flipper, you're trying to pick up some fixer-upper properties to turn into the stars of the show in the housing market. But, can you give the people what they want?
About House Flip
Within the large and popular genre of sim games, there are a fair number of titles dedicated to construction and restoration. This game focuses on the idea of housing repairs and maintenance but in a bite-sized experience. It's quite extensive in terms of covering all the different aspects of a house that could use some attention as well as all the actions that go into fixing a house properly. It makes all the different jobs and activities look much easier than they would ever be in real life, but at least it's making you aware of them.
How to Play
House Flip is a 2D sim game about buying and restoring houses to flip them on the market by using the mouse. You can control everything using the game UI to buy and examine the houses. To look at the particular areas of interest, click on them with the Left Mouse Button. When you decide to perform any work on areas of the house, you'll need to use a combination of moving the cursor and clicking the button in the problem areas. The goal is to improve the house as much as possible within the time limit and then sell it for a profit.
When you start the game, you'll be shown a listing of available houses to buy. After you choose one, you'll be taken to the repair screen where you'll see a whole floor plan of the house. The icons indicate aspects of the house that can be examined. Those with dark icons are unknown in terms of age and condition so they will need to be inspected. When examining an area, you can choose to clean, repair, upgrade, or add something to it (like carpet). Each one requires you to play a mini-game to carry out the work until the progress bar at the bottom reaches 100 percent.
The more work you do on the house, the more money you'll spend. This is tracked at the top of the screen along with funds from the bank the current value of the house and the timer. When the timer runs out, buyers will appear to make offers and you can choose the highest one. You also have the option to check the market to see what buyers want in a house.
Tips and Tricks
Pay close attention to the buyers' desires and focus on achieving those goals first. Then, try to cover the basics overall throughout the house such as cleaning everything and making sure that the main facilities work. Don't linger too long in one room.
