The act of fishing is one of the most relaxing activities that you can do and many families use it as a bonding activity which is why we have Grandpa's Fishing Boat. You're following a grandpa who has decided to go out on the water to do a little fishing. He is accompanied by a cat and his trusty fishing gear. As he sits out on the boat, he may not be fully aware of just how diverse all of the marine life is just below him. He'll be wanting to catch fish for food and the market, but there will be bigger fish making it difficult, and some that you hope never end up on the end of your line.

This is a light-hearted game about fishing though there is some challenge that goes along with it. It's a timing activity that gets harder as the marine life gets more and more dense so Grandpa will have a harder time catching what he wants. You can't always be sure about what you'll hook going down and coming back up, but a big part of fishing is the mystery of what you'll catch throughout the day.

How to Play

Grandpa's Fishing Boat is a 2D fishing game about a grandpa trying to catch fish in his little boat using only the mouse. To cast the line, just click the Left Mouse Button and the hook will launch in a straight line from the fishing pole. Once it hits something solid, it will be reeled back. The hook will sway back and forth to determine the trajectory of your cast. The goal is to catch as many valuable fish as possible without using too much bait. The amount of money you've made and the bait you have are shown at the top of the screen. As long as you have bait or can buy some, you can keep playing.

You can go to the bait shop to buy more bait with the coins you earn from fishing so that you can keep on fishing. You can also earn extra rewards by catching the occasional treasure chest. The variety of fish is quite diverse including small schools of fish to large sharks swimming by. Your bait and line can snag most of the fish you encounter, but if they're too big, the hook will snag them. Predators like sharks will swim by and eat any fish they swim into and will even eat fish the hook brings up to the boat past them. Be wary of the deadliest catches like jellyfish which will injure Grandpa and cost him money. Fish for as long as you want to stay in the boat.

Tips and Tricks

You need to keep in mind that bait will run out faster than you might realize. Schools of fish present easy and consistent catches, but they won't feed you enough to keep your bait stocked. Watch for the large slow-moving fish and try to cast the hook ahead of them.
