At some point in time, you were a child and as a child, you may have come across a channel known as Cartoon Network and it's still trying things leading to the Fungies Spelungies. This relatively recent game follows a group of mushroom people who spend a lot of their time digging underneath their town to find fossils. Since this is close to what a lot of games have you do anyway, they decided to just go along with it. Lead the spelungies to treasure by enthusiastically digging for shiny stuff while avoiding the dangers that can with deep digging.

The premise of many cartoon shows is to have a cast of colorful characters who pride themselves on doing one thing very well. This game focuses on a cast that is all about digging as deep as they can and collecting everything valuable. Even though it looks like they're having fun, they still need some strategy when it comes to digging properly. If they don't dig carefully, then all the dirt and rock can come crashing down on them. If that happens, no one will be happy and many treasures will be lost to the underground. This mining operation can be a serious business.
How to Play
Fungies Spelungies is a 2D mining game about digging down into the dirt to collect fossils using the keyboard.
Controls
- Down Arrow - Dig Down
- Left Arrow - Move/Dig Left
- Right Arrow - Move/Dig Right
The goal is to dig and collect as many fossils as possible. The star meter at the top indicates your rating and will fill up as you collect more fossils. When you reach the cave at the bottom of the area, the level will be completed. If your character gets crushed, you'll need to retry.
At the start, your character will be walking at the top of the dig site. From there, you can start digging down, left, or right. You can dig through any patch of dirt but are unable to jump or dig up. Solid rock can't be dug through and some blocks will fall if the dirt underneath them is removed. Some boulders can be pushed around by moving against them. You can collect fossils just by digging into them as well as other items such as keys. These will be needed to remove blocks will locks on them so that you can reach new areas.
Tips and Tricks
The key is to look carefully at where all the fossils are situated and then plan the route that will allow you to collect the most. The fossils that are shiniest and most intact should take priority so you plan around them. The positioning of the solids is also an indicator of where you should be and how you should dig.
