Food fights have been a thing ever since there's been food and there's been anger, but now they're seen in a more light-hearted way unless you're playing Foodstars IO. This is a place where food has a mind of its own and will not lie down just waiting to be consumed. It doesn't want to share the shelf or the fridge or the kitchen with other food, it wants to be the only food. These food items have weaponized themselves so that they can fight and claim dominance over the kitchen using your guiding hand. It's time for a FOOD FIGHT!
About Foodstars IO
We all have different diets and so we see other food as being preferable, but when it comes to fighting, it's all about strength and vitamins. This is a game where you'll be participating in a food fight that will escalate to a food battle. It's a colorful and very delicious combat scenario where the foods get to shoot their flavors the only way they know how. Like the produce aisle, there's a lot of variety and strategy as to what to pick for your basket. You can only take one food into battle, so let's hope that you can turn it into a star.
How to Play
Foodstars IO is a 3D top-down battle royale game about food fighting each other using the mouse and keyboard.
Controls
- Cursor - Aim
- Left Mouse Button - Attack
- W/Up Arrow - Move Up
- S/Down Arrow - Move Down
- A/Left Arrow - Move Left
- D/Right Arrow - Move Right
The goal of the game is to be the last piece of fruit standing. The match takes place on a cutting board on the kitchen counter which has been arranged for combat. Health and energy indicators will appear above the head of each piece of fruit. Both will recover over time (health only a bit) but if your health drops to zero, you'll be eliminated. If your energy drops to zero then you won't be able to attack until at least one bar fills up.
In the lobby, you have the option to choose which fruit you want to play as long as you have it unlocked. By playing matches, you'll earn points and coins that can be used to unlock rewards or spent in the shop. You need to do this to get food cards that are needed to unlock new pieces of food as well as upgrade them. Each fruit has one main weapon that ranges from close to long range and can have side effects when used.
When in battle, you're free to run around the field seeking out your opponents. There are objects like fences to take cover behind and if you step into the tall grass, you will disappear from vision. The match will continue until there is only one piece of food left standing. There will be a reed ring that will close around the area to force fighters closer together.
Tips and Tricks
Each foodie's weapon has a different behavior which can be easy or difficult to master depending on your style. Start with the one that has a range you're most comfortable with and then practice. Use the grass to your advantage but also shoot into it as food will be revealed when hit while hiding.
