Fill Up Bucket
The bucket is something that we usually ignore unless it's in a game and then we'll try to pick it up because it may be valuable like in Fill Up Bucket. The Gameboy era of graphics thrives in many ways and is being used to convey the idea of doing what buckets were made to do: Carry whatever you fill them with. Of course, the bucket can't do this on its own and needs the interaction of you to help it fulfill its purpose. If only the flow of liquid would cooperate right from the start, but then that would make things too easy.
About Fill Up Bucket
Gameboy-style games can instantly trigger nostalgia due to their appearance and their simple but functional mechanics. This game copies that well while creating a certain kind of puzzle from that period. It also has elements of drawing tablets and sketching tools which was something not commonly seen on the classic handheld. However, it's your main tool when it comes to moving the liquid so that the buckets can be filled and you can succeed. As long as you know how to go with the flow, you can learn how to move the flow to where you need to and get the most out of your buckets.
How to Play
Fill Up Bucket is a 2D GameBoy-style puzzle game about trying to fill up buckets with liquid using only the mouse. To draw a line, hold down the Left Mouse Button and then drag the cursor around in whatever pattern you like, and then release it to stop drawing. The liquid will keep flowing from the source automatically, being affected by gravity and whatever obstacles it flows into. The goal is to fill up all the buckets positioned around the level until they reach capacity. If you run out of liquid (as tracked at the top of the screen) before then, you'll need to retry the level.
You can start quickly by jumping into the level select and picking your challenge. You'll be taken to a screen where multiple buckets will be placed around the area, each denoted with a number representing their capacity. There will also be different immovable shapes around that will affect the flow of liquid as it constantly pours from the source. You'll be drawing lines to redirect the liquid into the different buckets. You can draw as many lines as you want and once all the buckets have been filled, the level will be completed and you can move on to the next.
Tips and Tricks
This is literally about flow and you need to observe the starting flow of the liquid and how it interacts with shapes. If you think carefully, it's possible to draw the shortest and simplest of lines to achieve your goal. Let the level layout work for you.
