Sleep is our time to rest, recover, and hopefully find some peace from the chaos of the day, but nightmares can still mess it up for us like in Cursed Dreams. You are a young man who is part of a family still experiencing a witch's curse from who knows how long ago. The curse takes effect on Halloween night when all of the family members' dreams become all too real. What's worse is that they naturally have nightmares which puts them in danger. This means that it's up to you to stay awake and go into each member's dreams to save them.

The idea of exploring dreams and minds is a common one in gaming and you never know what to expect. This game presents the different dreams as various game types that you'll need to adapt to so you can beat them. This means that each dream will require different kinds of movements and play styles to keep things varied. You can retry the dreams as much as you want if you need more time to adjust, but remember to prepare. You may need to switch your thinking as the occasion calls for it.
How to Play
Cursed Dreams is a 3D arcade and puzzle game about sorting out people's dreams using the mouse and keyboard.
Controls
- Left Mouse Button/Spacebar - Action
- E - Interact
- W/Up Arrow - Move Up/Jump
- A/Left Arrow - Move Left
- D/Right Arrow - Move Right
- S/Down Arrow - Move Down
The goal is to go around the house and defeat all of the nightmares. Your inventory is shown at the top of the screen for items that can be found around the house. When you approach a point of interest, you can interact with it and respond to the prompt. The disk in the top right corner can be used to save your progress.
When you begin, you're free to explore the house. All of your family members are asleep in their respective spots and you can approach them. When you interact with them, you have the option to enter their dreams if they're having a nightmare. Each member has a different dream and a different associated mini-game. They can require you to run around in an arcade shooter, finish a runner level, FPS shooting, a timed button-mashing mini-game, and a side-scrolling shoot-'em-up. Once you beat the dream, you can check to see that your family member is sleeping peacefully.
Tips and Tricks
The game is very gradual and you can approach the dreams in any order that you wish. Some are much longer than others, so consider timing when going after certain dreams. If you ever get stuck, you can automatically beat the dream by clicking the disk.
