Crossy Dash
Why did the chicken cross the road? Well, that question can have all sorts of answers, but that won't change the objective of Crossy Dash. A chicken has decided to go on a journey to cross not only one road but multiple roads as well as other natural and man-made features. It's not a safe journey for a chicken, but they have the reflexes to stay alive and avoid getting crushed by the various dangers. The only rule is that the chicken needs to keep moving, otherwise they'll be crushed by time itself. We're not sure why there’s the need to cross, but it's definitely better than standing in place.
About Crossy Dash
Crossing dangerous areas has been a theme in games since Frogger hopped onto the scene to avoid cars in style. This game is a spiritual descendant of the green daredevil, but it features another famous road-crosser. It's not easy to catch chickens that are moving at full speed, so it seems doable that you can get this chicken across all the different roads to safety. Still, the chicken can mess up and get caught in a bad spot, so you need to make sure that that doesn't happen. Once the chicken finishes crossing the road, it no longer needs to answer the question that's been asked for years.
How to Play
Crossy Dash is a 3D isometric arcade game about helping a chicken cross all kinds of roads using either the mouse or keyboard. Clicking the Left Mouse Button or pressing the Spacebar will cause the chicken to hop forward in a straight line.
Controls
- W/Up Arrow - Hop Forward
- S/Down Arrow - Hop Backward
- A/Left Arrow - Hop Left
- D/Right Arrow - Hop Right
The goal is to help the chicken hop across the different roads and keep moving forward. If the chicken gets hit by any fast-moving object, jumps off the road, or gets caught by the screen, you'll need to restart. The coins that the chicken can collect by hopping can be used to unlock other animals also seeking to cross the road.
Once you start, the chicken will spawn in a safe area and can start hopping forward. From that point, the screen will slowly start moving after them and will crush them if it gets too close. While hopping, the chicken will need to avoid all sorts of hazards and obstacles. Moving things like cars and trains will crush the chicken on contact. There will also be areas like rivers with moving logs that the chicken will need to hop across and should it miss and plunge into the water, its crossing will end. Coins will appear in different spots along the roads just waiting to be collected.
Tips and Tricks
Since you have to keep moving, timing is very important. The cars and trains can have varying patterns, but warning signs will indicate when danger is approaching fast. Logs need to sync up before you can cross them, but the biggest danger is coins. They can lure you into dangerous spots, so carefully think about whether going after them is worth the risk.
