You are a pirate captain with your very own ship and parrot companion who has decided to sail the sea. As you do, you come across multiple areas that seem to be filled with bubbles. The pirate's life is not for everyone and it involves a lot of danger and challenge at sea which many games try to show. This game shows a lighter pirate fantasy where you're dealing with bubble puzzles. There are still issues that you have to worry about since you need to be a bubble master to succeed. You either get all the stars or you've gotta go back and gather more bubbles to use. The bubbles are not always in your favor, but you need to use what you're given to the best of your ability so that you can keep on popping.
How to Play
Bubble Pirates Mania is a 2D puzzle game about a pirate popping bubbles with other bubbles using the mouse. To aim a bubble, hold down the Left Mouse Button and drag the cursor around. Releasing the button will launch the bubble in the shown trajectory. The goal of each level is to fill up the star meter at the top of the screen by popping bubbles. The amount of bubbles and power-ups you have are shown at the bottom of the screen. Once you fill up the meter, the bubbles descend too much, or you run out of bubbles to launch, the level will end.
You'll start the game at the level-select map screen. From there, you can go to any levels that you've unlocked by completing them. Each level will show an arrangement of bubbles hanging from the top of the screen. With each bubble launched, the bubbles will move down towards you. To pop bubbles, you need to create matches of three or more. When groups of bubbles are popped, any bubbles hanging onto them from below will also fall giving you points, coins, or power-ups. Power-ups can be launched as bubbles to have different effects such as acting as any color or exploding a certain number. There are also special bubbles like barrel bubbles that need to be broken and clear bubbles that you can shoot through.
Tips and Tricks
This game is all about angles and trajectories which can take a bit to master. While the trajectory will show the initial launch, you won't know how the bubble will bounce off the sides of the screen. Since your bubbles are limited, you need to use them efficiently and not carelessly fire them around to block off possible matches.
