Beenvaders
Bees are the best and we need them so they would take drastic measures to defend themselves and do their job like in Beenvaders. The natural world has changed and flowers have become hostels, able to fly through the air. They can also attack in various ways, but it's okay because we've got our best fighters on it: The bees. You follow a bee fighter on a flight to take down all these hostile flowers with projectile pollination. This is tough work that needs to be done to help the natural world survive and let the bees continue to do their valuable work.
About Beenvaders
There are many stories about bees and they've been painted in numerous ways, including as world-dominating corporate leaders. This game puts you in the role of a hard-working bee fighter who just wants to do his job. It is constantly firing and flying which takes a lot of the pressure off of you to manage all of its movements. Still, flowers can prove to be very troublesome obstacles. They can take up a lot of space and you need to use your bee's small size to weave through all the threats as best as you can to be the most powerful pollinator.
How to Play
Beenvaders is a 2D arcade-style shooting game about bees taking down flowers using just the keyboard. You can play using either the A/D or Left/Right Arrow Keys to move the bee either left or right. The bee handles all of the shooting on its own, shooting small bee projectiles in a straight line at a constant pace. The goal is to fly as long as possible so that you can pollinate the most flowers.
When the game begins, the bee will start flying up from the bottom of the screen. Flowers will start appearing at the top of the screen and will start descending toward the bee. You can pollinate the flowers with the bee projectiles, with more flowers appearing the longer you take. As more time passes, different colored flowers will appear that will take more shots to pollinate. The flowers will also shoot projectiles at the bee as well as charge at it. The bee's health is shown in the top right corner of the screen and if it hits zero, the run is over.
The number of flowers you've pollinated is shown in the top left corner of the screen. Flowers also have a chance to drop power-ups like hearts that restore your health and bee pellets that improve your projectiles.
Tips and Tricks
This is a shooter where moving is just as important as shooting. You need to keep moving to spots where the flowers our weakest to keep a path open. Always prioritize getting the bee pellets since projectile upgrades will become necessary for survival.
