The Second World War is frequently revisited in video games and once again we return to the frontlines in 1942 Pacific Front. As either the US or Japan, the two forces are fighting to take control of the Pacific. It's an area with a lot of value; both sides want to use it for their efforts, and there's only so much space to go around. The two sides each have to use their forces and resources to strategically take control and both are looking to your for leadership. The war rages on and this is an important battle within it.

War and battles are all about strategy, though numbers and power can help to swing the tides in your favor. This game is about using everything you can call to the field and the field itself to your advantage. The enemy can throw all sorts of things at you and you need to be ready to respond effectively. If you don't, then it's only a matter of time before you're overrun. You may need to sacrifice units, but there's a limit to how much your side can take before you'll need to think about retreating. You can't let it end without using your best tactics.
How to Play
1942 Pacific Front is a 2D turn-based strategy game about various battles taking place in the Pacific during WWII using the mouse. To interact with any of the UI elements, just move the cursor over to them and click the Left Mouse Button. To control a unit, click on it and then click the space you want it to move to or click the unit you want it to attack. You can also click icons on each unit to use their abilities. The goal is to defeat the enemy force in each battle and take control of area. If you lose all your units and territory in battle, you'll lose and will need to try again.
Battles will take place over land, sea, and air. Vehicle units have a lot of movement but rely heavily on fuel and terrain. Infantry can move through most terrain and only need to rely on ammo refills. Terrain will affect factors such as how much your units can move and how much cover they have. When you spawn, your units will be placed in a certain part of the map and you'll need to advance into enemy territory. Once there, you need to defeat the enemies, take control of the facilities, and then defend it from a counterattack. Your units can be restored through the use of supply drops from facilities or certain units. Each supply drop and unit summoned will cost money which is shown at the top of the screen. You can gain more money from defeating enemies.
Levels will have you moving over land and sea, with planes providing support from the air. You can only summon units when you have access to certain facilities. After finishing a level, you'll be scored based on the objectives and how well you performed.
Tips and Tricks
You want to make sure that your starting forces last as long as possible. Don’t resupply or order new units until you’ve made some progress to where you’re defending. Always remember to use terrain when engaging and setting up traps and counterattacks.
